Delete your TagHunger account

Last updated: 13 September 2026

You can remove your TagHunger account and the kitchen data tied to it. This page explains the steps, what we delete, and what we may keep for a short time.

In the app

  1. Open TagHunger and sign in with Google.
  2. Go to Profile or Settings.
  3. Open Account, then Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Deletion cannot be undone.

By email

If you no longer have the app, email us from the same Google address you used to sign in.

privacy@taghunger.com

Use the subject “Delete my TagHunger account”. We may ask one follow-up question to confirm it is you.

Request deletion

What we delete

When deletion completes, we remove or anonymise personal data linked to your account, including:

  • Your name, email, Google account identifier, and optional mobile number
  • Pantry inventory, scanned kirana bills and grocery photos
  • Meal plans, grocery lists, diet and health-goal preferences
  • Expiry-alert settings and in-app activity tied to your account

What we may keep, and for how long

We start processing a verified request within two working days and finish deletion within 30 days, unless the law requires a longer hold.

  • Encrypted backups may still contain a copy until the next backup cycle, then they expire
  • We may keep records needed for fraud, security, or a legal request
  • Aggregated numbers that cannot identify you (for example, “meals planned this month”) may remain

Deleting TagHunger does not delete your Google account. Uninstalling the app also does not delete your TagHunger data until you follow the steps above.

After deletion

You will not be able to recover pantry history or meal plans. If you sign in again later, it is a new account with an empty kitchen.

This process is also described in our Privacy Policy. Questions: contact us.
